We found each other in a very strange way. I met Andreas while selling Greek wine in New York. Deeply demotivated, it was close to midnight. I was hanging around Vanderbilt and saw this one restaurant that I had already visited earlier in the afternoon of the same day… without success. "What the heck?" I cursed and decided to make another attempt.

I remembered the Greek clumsy waiter who had fobbed me off. “The manager is not here” he had said and I was prepared to hear the same again. I was used to hearing no’s, but having nothing else to do with my time I entered. Waiters were already cleaning up and then I saw this 6 foot 5 tall suit with long black hair like an Indian chief. The jacket was not buttoned up and he was holding a tray, serving drinks to the last table. I had never seen a suit before serving drinks. That was it. I thought he was one of us. Another one who tries very hard to prove his diligence.

In another parallel universe, “Makis” or with the name they addressed him on earth Michael the wine disciple was struggling to save his kingdom of heaven while threatening to flood it with wine.

We were not friends but our common goal of committing suicide with wine brought us together. All three of us, are pack animals of this modern wine world. For years we had been infected with this merciless love for grape juice. As time went by, besides drinking it, we learned about this gift from the gods.

We never wanted normal wines, we wanted odd wines. Odd like us. This is a small selection of wines from small winemakers, people struggling to make a living, who still pick the grapes from their vineyards themselves.
